GCA Welcomes Charles Wooley
Charles Wooley
Charles Wooley is an esteemed and award winning broadcaster with over 35 yearsexperience in media.
Perhaps best known as a roving, rural reporter for Channel Nine and the Sixty Minutes program, Charles now enjoys a strong following as a radio host out of his native Tasmania with the Charles Wooley Across Australia program. He is also a co-author on the best selling Walk Guides titles -
A Walk in Old Hobart and A Walk in Old Launceston and he is currently working on a new publication A Walk in Old Sydney.
The outstanding popularity of Walk Guides Australia’s other books, A Tour of Old Tasmania, A Walk in Old Hobart and A Walk in Old Launceston indicate that sales of A Walk in Old Sydney will be over 60 000. Our Hobart book was Tasmania’s number 1 seller against all fiction and non fiction publications in 2007.
This puts the likely readership of A Walk in Old Sydney in its first 12 months at more than 300 000. As people pay for the book, it has a value to its readers as opposed to brochures etc. Our surveys also show that the books are kept as colourful references and souvenirs to take back home to show friends and family. These surveys also show that on average for every book sold, six people will read it. Both previous titles have been nominated for the Prime Minister’s Prize for Australian History 2008.
A unique strength of this book is that visitors planning a trip to Sydney will be presented will clear, concise answers to those all important questions: Where should we go? How can we make the most of the week, the month, we have in Sydney? What’s the best way to explore Sydney’s rich colonial heritage?
A Walk in Old Sydney will be sold in bookstores and newsagencies, visitor information centres, souvenir shops, car and campervan rental premises, hotels, restaurants and B&B’s. It will also be sold in airport shops in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Tasmania.
As with our books about Tasmania, Hobart and Launceston, there will be big international and interstate sales through our popular website: www.walkguidesaustralia.com. Do have a look at this site to get an idea on the exciting prospects Walk Guides Australia holds for your business.
The site is linked to many sites for travellers, and advertisers in A Walk in Old Sydney who have their own websites will be offered free links to our site.
A Walk in Old Sydney is sure to provide a new and interesting opportunity for tourists in Sydney and our productive marketing and distributive networks will ensure that most of these people see this book.
